Postcard for Peebles

The Postcard for Peebles Competition

1st PostcardThe Postcard for Peebles competition was an annual event organized by the Peebles Civic Society which ran from 1995 until 2012. This took the form of a photographic competition, aimed at attracting entries which showed the town of Peebles in its best light. Each year, the winning photograph was printed as a postcard and copies were sold in local retailers to raise money for the work of the Society.  The first competition, held in 1995, was won by Hector Cameron and his winning card is still in print and has so far sold over 14000 copies.

Although the competition is no longer running, it is still possible to see a sample of the previous winners’ photographs by clicking here.
